Offshore: Good conditions today with winds east to northeasterly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the morning.and seas below 1 metre. Tomorrow conditions will become choppy later in the afternoon with winds east to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the late afternoon and seas below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon. Double Island Point has had good catches of mahi mahi, large and small mouth nannygai, pearl perch, mulloway , gold spot cod and moses perch. Fishing Offshore Noosa worked Sunshine Reef and North Reef for snapper, good numbers of spotty mackerel, cobia, moses perch, gold spot cod, grass emperor and a few Spanish mackerel. Mike Duncan on his jet ski fished Sunshine Reef, he had three Spaniards in the bag (top weight 12kg) taken on whole bonito baits. Deep End Fishing Charters, caught good spotty and spanish mackerel, cobia, big Mahi Mahi, sweetlip and snapper from Caloundra 12 mile. Spotty mackerel and yellow fin tuna from Caloundra 5 mile.
Noosa: Quality GT's to 55cm on surface poppers in Woods Bays. Big flathead and Gt's from Tewantin Reach. A few good jacks from between the lakes. Whiting from the frying pan and Munna Point. A few quality muddies throughout the System.
Maroochydore: Whiting throughout the lower river. Queenfish, trevally and cod from the motorway bridge. Trevally, cod and flathead from Chambers Island. Mangrove jack in the creeks and from Bli Bli reach. A few mud crabs in the creeks, middle river and canals.
Mooloolaba: Big whiting in the Mooloolah canals and from Mountain Creek reach. Flathead, mangrove jack and giant trevally in the Mooloolaba canals. Bream and cod around the moorings. Mangrove jack from the Twin bridges and rocky areas of the middle river.
Caloundra: Mangrove jack, cod and flathead in Coochin Creek. Big GT's and and few quality bream in Pelican waters Canal. Whiting and some big flathead from Golden Beach. A few good crabs at the creek entrances. Bream and flathead from the Military Jetty.
Another good day of fishing on the Mighty Maroochy River yesterday, with Doug Cooke taking home a delicious feed of dusky flathead for last night’s dinner. @swanboathire
