Local Fishing Report: Wednesday 2018-10-10

It's a shame about the windy conditions, because the fish will be on the bite after yesterdays New Moon Phase. Choppy conditions  today particularly later in the day with winds northerly 15 to 20 knots turning northwesterly in the evening with seas around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.Tomorrow will be choppy to pretty rough conditions as the day progresses, so be prepared to fish in sheltered waters with winds northwest to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots shifting southeasterly 20 to 25 knots during the morning and seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres during the morning. When conditions improve try North Reef where they have venus tusk fish, maori cod, cobia, snapper and big pearl perch. Cougar One fished Sunshine Reef where they caught snapper, pearl perch, grass sweetlip and coral trout. Sweetlip, school mackerel and  tusk fish from the Gneerings. Snapper, pearl perch, tusk fish and cobia from the Hards. Double Island Point has had good snapper, red emperor, cod, a few trout, pearl perch, moses perch, and tusk fish.
