Local Fishing Report: Tuesday 2018-08-14


Today conditions will be good with winds south to southeasterly about 10 knots becoming east to northeasterly in the late afternoon with seas below 1 metre.Tomorrows will be good early in the day with a bit of northerly chop in the afternoon with winds variable about 10 knots becoming north to northwesterly 15 to 20 knots during the day and seas below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon or evening. So with the good conditions have a go at, Chardon's Reef there's grass sweetlip, tusk fish, gold spot estuary cod, snapper and cobia. North Reef's had good big snapper, moses perch, tusk fish, pearl perch and cobia. Grass sweetlip, cobia, cod, quality snapper and tusk fish from the Barwon Banks. Snapper, cobia, pearl perch, tusk fish from Caloundra 12 mile. Snapper, grass sweetlp, moses perch and parrot from Murphy's. Big grass sweetlip and nice keeper snapper around Old Women Island. Snapper and Sweetlip around Brays Rock. Grass sweetlip, cobia, cod, quality snapper and tusk fish from the Barwon Banks. Wild Thing 2 skipper Paul Glover fished D.I. on Saturday where they caught moses perch, amberjack, coral bream, gold spot wrasse, tea leaf trevally, cobia, snapper and some monster tusk fish. Estuaries and Beaches

Noosa: Tailor, a few whiting and bream and dart along Teewah Beach. Still luderick in the lower river. Some good whiting, bream and plenty of good quality flathead from throughout the river. Golden and diamond trevally in the lower river also try in Noosa Sound. Bream around the bridges and rocky areas of the lower river. Worth putting the pots in for a few sand crabs.

Maroochydore: Try for tailor and bream in the gutters. The odd luderick around the rock walls in the lower River around the Plenty of bream to 35 cm, and a few trevally with better catches over night from the motorway bridge pylons and along Oyster bank road. Recently, there have been some good fathead caught through out the river and quality bream from around Goat and Channel Islands.

Mooloolaba: A few good tailor and solid golden trevally in the lower river. Bream and a few luderick around McKenzies Bridge, the rock walls and the Kawana Boat Ramp. Average size grass sweetlip and big bream off the rocks at Point Cartwright. Gar in the La Balsa sand basin.

Caloundra: Try the gutters along the beaches for bream,tailor and jew at dawn and dusk. Get your green weed for luderick and try for bream, the odd tailor and flathead off the boardwalk. Bream, flathead and whiting along Golden beach. Trevally, cod, the odd tailor and bream in Pelican Waters Canal.
