Offshore

Conditions should be okay this morning with some northerly chop increasing, as winds will be northwest to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots inshore in the afternoon. Seas below 1 metre to start with, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon. Dave Hirst trolled his trolled Halco Laser Pro lure, off Sunshine Reef on Wednesday for a 11kg wahoo. A few quality mahi mahi at Sunshine Reef last weekend North Reef's had pearl perch and sweetlip and Chardons Reef has had good catches of jew. The crews on Top Catch Charters have taken good cobia and sweetlip and the odd red emperor from the 9 Mile and Murphies reef's as well as a 65cm sweetlip from Currimundi. The Barwon Banks which has been producing amberjack to 26kg, pearl perch, hussar, sea bream, moses perch, venus tusk fish and mowong.

Estuaries

Noosa: Worth fishing for quality flathead in the Woods Bay. There's been plenty of good flathead, bream, whiting and trevally at the Noosa River mouth and along the Noosaville reach. In Weyba Creek there a few quality sand crabs, bream and a few quality whiting. Mangrove jack in Noosa Sound and between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Whiting and bream around Chambers Island. A few good flathead and jew at night in the Cod Hole. A few good mangrove jacks showing up in the upper river in places like Petrie Creek and Dunethin rock. Flathead and bream from the mouth of Eudlo Creek. Whiting and bream from Picnic Point. Mud crab in Eudlo creek, Bli Bli reach and the upper river.

Kawana: Flathead, bream, dart and whiting along the beaches, trevally along the rock walls at the Mooloolah River mouth. Trevally, bream and gar from the boat mooring and in the Kawana canals. Flathead and whiting in the sand basin and trevally around Minyama Island. Trevally and flathead from Mountain Creek. Mangrove jack in the middle river around the snaggy banks.

Caloundra: Flathead and mulloway inside Caloundra Bar. Try for queenfish and trevally on live bait around Military Jetty and the Boardwalk. Good flathead with some over the maximum size released and trevally from Military jetty area. Trevally and mangrove jack around the rock bars, bridge pylons and pontoons. showing up in the canals and creeks that feed into the passage. Catches of sand crabs in the passage and muddies in the creeks.
