More ideal fishing conditions with winds blowing easterly 10 to 15 knots turning southeasterly in the afternoon. Seas are around 1 metre. Quality Spanish mackerel, cobia and big yellow tail tuna north of the Blinker also good Spanish mackerel and cobia out from Noosa. Spots like Sunshine Reef and the Barwon Banks fished well for red throat emperor, gold spotted wrasse, mahi mahi, yellowtail king, amberjack, tuskfish and pearl perch.
Noosa: Flathead, bream, trevally and whiting at the Noosa River mouth. Mangrove jack in Weyba Creek, Woods Bay and in the snaggy areas in the upper reaches. Big whiting to 33cm in Weyba Creek. Quality golden trevally and flathead at Tewantin and in the Noosa Sound. Mud crabs in the upper reaches and sand crabs in the lower reaches.
Maroochydore: Chopper tailor at the river mouth. Jew and trevally around Twin Waters. Whiting on the banks in the lower reaches particularly the Black Bank, with one angler catching 16 quality fish between 32 and 36cm on Thursday. Flathead from Picnic Point. Sand crabs in the mouth of Petrie Creek. Mud crabs in the upper reaches and the canals.
Kawana: Some bream and whiting on the beach at Mooloolaba and a few dart and flathead along Kawana. Mud crabs in the upper reaches of the river and the creeks. Sand crabs towards the river mouth. Bream around the moorings and along La Balsa Park. Have a go for mangrove jack up to 58cm in Mountain Creek and around McKenzies Bridge.
Caloundra: Trevally inside the Caloundra bar and around the jetties. Bream also around the jetties and the boardwalk. Grunter bream and the odd jack around the pontoons in Pelican Waters Canals. Whiting opposite the Power Boat Club, off Moffat Beach and in Currimundi Lake. Jack and trevally in the creeks that feed into the Passage. Sand crabs throughout the passage.
