Local Fishing Report: Saturday 03/12/2011

Noosa: When the wind eases back try the close in reefs for a few mackerel. Trevally, bream and school jew from Tewantin. Flathead and a few whiting from the Frying Pan. Mangrove jack, bream, tailor and trevally from Webya creek.

Maroochydore: When the wind eases back try for spanish and spotty mackerel from the Inner gneerings, Murphy’s and off Coolum. Jew averaging 80cm from the Cod hole on soft plastics and live bait. Bream and flathead to 50cm from Chambers Island. Golden trevally, flathead and bream from the Bli Bli bridge and mangrove jack in the upper reaches around Coolum Creek, and up in Petrie creek. A few quality size mud crabs starting to show up in the creeks.

Kawana: Trevally around the 2kg mark and bream at night from the Kawana boat ramp pontoon. Mangrove jack and bream in the upper reaches and in Mountain Creek. Whiting and the odd flathead from sand spit at La balsa park. Sand crabs from the lower reaches.

Caloundra: Try for cobia, pearl perch and tusk fish form Caloundra 12 mile. Golden trevally and flathead from the board walk. Flathead and whiting on the flats opposite Bells Creek mouth on yabbies and live worms. A few sand crabs throughout the Passage.
