Local Fishing Report: Saturday 15/10/2011

Noosa: Snapper and schooled tuna at Sunshine Reef. Red Emperor and snapper at North Reef. Big flathead from Weyba Creek. Flathead and bream along the Tewantin stretch and at the river mouth on the incoming tide.School jew and trevally form the ski run.

Maroochydore: Trevally to 2.2kg on ripple shads from the cod hole on Saturday morning. Trevally to 2kg, tailor and good numbers of school Jewfish to 90cm from the cod hole on soft plastics, blades and live bait. Whiting to 30cm at the mouth of Petrie creek on live sand worms.

Kawana: Snapper to 7.5kg and large numbers of pearl perch at the Barwon banks. Big bream from the Kawana boat ramp pontoon at night. Whiting from McKenzie’s bridge on live worms and nippers. Flathead from McKenzies bidge using mullet fillet

Caloundra: Squire, pearl perch and sweetlip from Caloundra twelve mile. A 70cm flathead was caught at the Caloundra Bar. Flathead and chopper tailor from the Boardwalk. Bream and trevally in Pelican Waters Canals on small hard body lures. Mangrove jack through the upper reaches of Bells creek and Coochin creek.
