Local Fishing Report: Sunday 28/08/2011

Noosa: The new moon today will have the fish feeding for the next few days. There’s good size flathead from the mouth of the river. Trevally are being caught from the canals on the top of the tide and some bream an flathead from the Tewantin Ski run.

Maroochydore: It will be worth trying for Jew at the Cod Hole on the top of the tide and overnight through the new moon phase. There was plenty of herring bait fish a few whiting around 28 to 30cm, bream and luderick caught on the top and then the run out tide around Chambers Island yesterday. Trevally and bream in the cod hole. Flathead on soft plastics in Petrie Creek. The water is pretty dirty after the recent rain, so it would be worth chasing the mud crabs in the middle and upper reaches

Kawana: A few tailor are being caught along the rock wall and in the gutters along the local beaches. The odd golden trevally at La Balsa Park. Bream throughout the river particularly around moorings. A few jew around the entrance to the river as well. Flathead and whiting around McKenzie’s Bridge.

Caloundra: Flathead around 50cm from the top end of the passage, a few chopper tailor in the main channel and the odd trevally around the channel markers on the making tide. Bream and flathead from Military Jetty. Luderick off the boardwalk on the top of the tide morning.
