Local Fishing Report: Sunday 10/7/2011

Noosa: Grassy sweetlip, snapper, Cobia from North Reef. Tailor and dart off the rocks in the National park and from the mouth on the making tide. Trevally with the odd chopper tailor from the Sheraton bridge and around the Tewantin stretch. Flathead on the drift around Tewantin.

Maroochydore: Snapper, sweetlip and the odd big dart from Old Woman Island. Chopper tailor throughout the river on hard body lures and live herring. Bream to 35cm out from Uni Street on prawns. Mudjimba and Marcoola are producing good numbers whiting and dart.

Kawana: Snapper between 2 to 3kg from Banks and Murphy’s. Dart, bream and whiting along the beaches. Giant and golden trevally from Kawana Island and the Weir. Chopper tailor and bream to 40cm from the rock walls and Point Cartwright.

Caloundra: Sweetlip and snapper to 6kg from Currimundi early morning. Bream off the rocks at Kings beach. The odd Jewfish in the upper reaches on live bait at night. Bream, trevally and chopper tailor on soft plastics in Pelican waters canals on the top of the tide. Luderick off the boardwalk.

After a four hour wait Dan hook this big Maroochy river jewfish on live bait in the upper reaches.
