Local Fishing Report: Thursday 7/4/2011

Noosa: Mangrove jack, trevally and flathead in Woods Bay at night on Gladiator Prawn lures. Grunter bream and bream from the canals. Whiting and flathead from the Frying pan and Munna Point. Trevally and jacks around Munna bridge and the back of the sound. Mud crabs between the lakes.

Maroochydore: Flathead have been caught and released up to 85cm on trolled lures around the Bli Bli bridge to the mouth of Petrie Creek. Trevally, bream and school jew to 75cm from Cod Hole on soft plastics and live bait during the incoming tide. Whiting from the Black banks and goat Island. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.

Kawana: Flathead, dart and whiting from Kawana beach on soft plastics and pipis. Tarpon and trevally in Lake Kawana on surface lure during dusk and dawn. Cod and jacks from the weir at night. Whiting and grunter bream near McKenzie’s bridge. Mud crabs in the canals.

Caloundra: Whiting out from the Power boat club on live worms. Bream, trevally and the odd mangrove jack in the upper reaches of Pelican Waters canals on dusk. Bream and the odd Big flathead from the Mouth of Bells creek and off the boardwalk. Mud cabs around the upper reaches.
