Noosa: Sailfish and spanish mackerel from Chardons reef. Coral trout from Sunshine reef. Trevally, mangrove jacks and big schools of tailor in Woods bay and the back of the sound on the high tide. Flathead, whiting and dart around the river mouth on the rising tide.

Maroochydore: Spotty mackerel, longtail tuna, maori cod and sweetlip from Old Woman island. Dart, flathead and jew fish to 86cm from Mujimba beach and the river mouth. Whiting and flathead from the Black banks and Cotton tree.Trevally, bream and mangrove jack to 2.2kg from the Cod hole.

Kawana: Parrot, coral trout, gold spot wrass and red throat emperor to 3kg from the Banks. Good size trevally at night from the rockwalls and the pontoon at Kawana boat ramp. Good catches of whiting and dart along Kawana beach from accesses 4 , 8 and 9 on live worms and pipi’s.

Caloundra: Parrot, sweetlip, spanish mackerel, spotty mackerel from Caloundra 12 mile and Curramundi. Big quality flathead from the boardwalk on live herring. Bream throughout the lower reaches. Mangrove Jacks up the backend  of Bells creek on lures and live bait. Mud cabs in Pelican waters canals.

Paul Watts landed this quality 52cm mangrove jack on a strip of mullet while fishing along the river at Minti Street.
