Local Fishing Report: Saturday 19/2/2011

Noosa: Spanish mackerel and spotty mackerel from Chardon’s and Sunshine Reef. Tarpon and mangrove jack up from Woods bay on Gladiator prawn lures. Bream, trevally and flathead around the river mouth and Munna point.


Maroochydore: Giant trevally from the Cod Hole on soft plastics and live bait on the top of the tide. Bream and whiting from the chambers island bridge on live worms. Good size bream and the occasional whiting from the entrance to the canals. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.            

 

Kawana: Parrot, Spanish mackerel and spangled emperor from Murphy’s reef. Bream, grassy sweetlip and the odd parrot from Point Cartwright rocks. Mangrove Jack and trevally on live herring from Kawana Lakes. Dart, whiting, bream and a few tarwhine from Kawana beach.
 
Caloundra: Grunter bream from Kings beach. Quality whiting from Moffats beach on live worms . Bream, queenfish and flathead from the Boardwalk and in the canal system. Good numbers of bream form Military Jetty on live Herring. Mud crabs in the upper reaches.
