LOCAL FISHING REPORT Friday February 11, 2011

 

 

This will be the last weekend to fish for Snapper, Pearl Perch and Trag Jew for 6 weeks and the forecast isn’t bad so it will be worth heading offshore.

Noosa: Spanish mackerel and coral trout from jew shoal and Sunshine Reef. Jacks, tailor, trevally and threadfin salmon in the river mouth. Whiting on the banks around the Frying Pan. Mud crabs from the Tewantin stretch and in Weyba creek.

Maroochydore: Trevally from Twin Waters Weir. Flathead and bream throughout the lower reaches. Whiting to 35cm have been feeding on the top of the tide near the mouth. A 41cm bream was taken in the southern. Mud crabs from above Bli Bli bridge.

Kawana: Cobia from the Gneerings. Dart and trevally out from Kawana Surf Club. Tailor, cod and bream from the weir early morning. Bream and trevally on the high tide around the boat moorings and along La Balsa park.

Caloundra: A 20kg Spaniard was caught at Currimundi reef a couple of days ago. Dart along Currimundi beach. Grunter bream have been feeding along the weed banks throughout the passage. Bream and flathead from the Boardwalk. Mud crabs from Coochin Creek.

Cameron was on holidays from Warwick and landed this nice flathead from opposite Maroochy Sail Hire while on an Anglers Advantage Charter.
