LOCAL FISHING REPORT Monday February 7, 2011
Noosa: Spanish mackerel and snapper from Sunshine reef. Bream and flathead on the making tide near the Noosaville stretch. Trevally, good numbers of mangrove jack and jew fish to 80cm on the high tide in Woods Bay. Mud crabs from the Tewantin stretch and in Weyba creek.
Maroochydore: Snapper to 3.3kg and red throat emperor from Old Women Island. Mack tuna between Mooloolaba and Mudjimba. Flathead, Cale Cale and morwong in the Cod Hole. Flathead and bream throughout the lower reaches. Mud crabs from above Bli Bli bridge.
Kawana: Snapper to 5.8kg, cobia and spangled emperor to 4.8kg from Caloundra 12 mile. Flathead, bream, tarwhine and whiting along the beach. Bream and trevally on the high tide in the lower river.
Caloundra: Queenfish from the Boardwalk. Trevally, mangrove jack and bream in the canals. School jew at the entrance to Bells Creek. Mud crabs and grunter bream south of Coochin Creek.
