LOCAL FISHING REPORT Thursday January 27, 2011
Noosa: Spanish mackerel, snapper, cobia and mahi mahi from Sunshine reef. Mangrove jack and thread fin salmon up to 5kg from Woods bay and the back of the sound. Whiting in the lower reaches. Large numbers of flathead from the mouth. Good numbers of bass from lake McDonald.
Maroochydore: Spotty mackerel, squire and sweetlip from Old Woman island. Whiting from the sand bags late afternoon. Grunter bream around the Bli Bli bridge. Plenty of large flathead around Goat and Channel island on bait and soft plastics. Mud crabs to 1kg in the cod hole.
Kawana: Parrot and grassy sweetlip from the Gneerings at dawn. Golden and silver trevally from La Balsa park. Quality dart, trevally and tarwhine in the wash along Kawana Beach. Flathead, bream and trevally from the rock walls. Mud crabs in the canals.
Caloundra: Grass sweetlip, snapper and Spanish mackerel from Brays Rock. Dart and whiting along Currimundi beach. Flathead and a few whiting between the mouth and the power boat club. Trevally and bream in the canals. Mud crabs throughout the passage.

Tom, Ben and Harry fished the Maroochy river for this nice feed of flathead.
