Fishing Report September 7 2008
Noosa: Try for whiting in the lower reaches. Schoolie flathead in Weyba Creek and throughout the lakes. Chopper tailor between freshwater and Double Island Point. Good golden trevally in Woods Bay. Bream and flathead in the lower river system.
Maroochydore: An 85cm jew taken and an 81cm flathead released near the sand bags in the river mouth yesterday afternoon. A few grunter bream on the move in the dirty water after the rain and flathead throughout the river on soft plastics and small baitfish with fish in the 60cm range taken at Cotton Tree, near the bar and around the island’s. Also a few good whiting from Bli Bli and Twin Waters.
Mooloolaba: Bream and a few grunter along La Balsa Park rock walls. Only the odd luderick from the inside of Kawana Rock wall. Whiting from the beach in the bay at Mooloolaba. Mac tuna in the bay.
Caloundra: School mackerel at Raper Shoal and Caloundra 12 Mile. Big flathead throughout the passage, better quality fish in the blue hole and around the bar. Trevally around Pelican Waters canals. The odd whiting around 30cm opposite golden beach. Grunter at the mouth of Bell’s Creek.

Mike Halls and Brett Thorpe did well on Noosa Blue Water Charters trip to The Hards with a number of 7kg snapper.
