Fishing Report September 5 2008
Noosa: Whiting in the lower reaches. Flathead in Weyba Creek and throughout the lakes. Mangrove jack on live bait from the back of Noosa Sound. Chopper tailor between freshwater and Double Island Point.
Maroochydore: School jew, trevally and cod in the deeper channels of the middle reaches. Flathead throughout the river on soft plastics and small baitfish. The odd good whiting from bli bli and twin waters. Trevally from the motorway bridge pylons and small mangrove jack in the Petrie Creek on lure.
Mooloolaba: Bream along La Balsa park rock wall. Gar and pike in the basin and around the pilot boat jetty. Luderick from the inside of Kawana Rock wall. Whiting from the beach in the bay at Mooloolaba. Mud crabs in the creek mouths. Mac tuna in the bay.
Caloundra: Big flathead throughout the passage, better quality fish in the blue hole and in bar. Trevally around Pelican Waters canals. The odd whiting around 30cm opposite golden beach. Grunter at the mouth of Bell’s Creek.

Bob had a session throwing his home made lures in Petrie Creek and came up with a keeper mangrove jack earlier this week.
