Local Fishing Report: Sunday 05/02/2012

Noosa: Jacks in the lower river over night. Whiting in the frying pan and Woods bays. Trevally in Woods Bay and the back of the Sound. Flathead, tarwhine and whiting along North Shore. Mud crabs in the middle reaches and the canals. Been a few good bass and yellow belly caught in Lake McDonald over the weekend.

Maroochydore: Whiting to 37cm and grunter bream yesterday between the motorway bridge and Bli Bli bridge. Good numbers of flathead around 50cm from Picnic Point. Plenty of mud crabs throughout the river system, the fuller crabs are coming from the middle reaches of the river. Jewfish to 76cm from the cod hole. Mangrove jack, estuary cod and flathead in the southern channel. Flathead and bream along north shore.

Kawana: Flathead and whiting from the spit and in sand basin downstream of La Balsa Park. Golden trevally from the Kawana Boat ramp pontoon. Bream and flathead around the boat moorings during the incoming tide. Mud crabs in all the canals and in Parrearra channel.

Caloundra: Mud crabs throughout the passage and in the creeks in good numbers. A few bream, flathead and grunter just inside the bar and trevally off the Boardwalk. Whiting along Golden Beach. Jacks in Pelican Waters.
