Fishing Report September 12 2008
Noosa: Snapper, long tail tuna and cobia from North Reef. Flathead in Weyba Creek and throughout the lakes. Tailor along the Freshwater stretch and dart along Teewah. Trevally in Woods Bay and from Munna Point. Flathead throughout the lower reaches with good results around Munna Bridge.
Maroochydore: Chopper tailor at dawn and dusk and flathead on the low tide from the Pincushion. A few grunter bream and dusky flathead along the Bli Bli stretch. Summer whiting starting to feed around Bli Bli, the black banks and in the river mouth. Flathead and average bream in the cod hole. Mangrove jack on lures and live bait in Eudlo and Petrie Creeks.
Mooloolaba: Sweetlip and snapper on the outside edge of Murphy’s Reef. Plenty of scattered schools of mac tuna between Mooloolaba and Old Women Island. Whiting and dart along the Currimundi Stretch. Luderick from the Kawana rock wall closest to the entrance. Scattered catches of gar in the lower reaches. Bream and trevally at the top and the bottom of the tide.
Caloundra: School mackerel at the 12 mile and off the rocks at Moffat headland. Bream and big flathead off the boardwalk, in the blue hole and at the mouth of Bells Creek. The odd trevally at the top of the tide in Pelican Waters canal. Grunter and whiting opposite the mouth of Coochin Creek.

Pic: At Lake MacDonald, the resident bass were in pretty good numbers if not size over the weekend during the Bass Electric Competition. Shane Anderson was the outright winner and also caught and released the biggest bass at 879gm.
