Local Fishing Report: Monday 19/09/2011

Noosa: Snapper, trag jew, cobia and parrot at North Reef. Whiting and some big flathead from the entrance to the river and in Woods Bay. Plenty of big eye and giant trevally in Woods Bay and around the Sheraton Bridge. Jacks in Weyba Creek. Flathead from the Tewantin Ski run.

Maroochydore: Snapper to 4kg from Currimundi and the Blinker. Bream and chopper tailor off the Pincushion. Good whiting throughout the lower reaches. Flathead to 65cm between Eudlo Creek and Bli Bli Islands. Trevally in the channel off Picnic Point mid making tide yesterday. Mud crabs in the middle and upper reaches.

Kawana: Snapper to 7.4kg in 90m of water from the Banks. Mac Tuna, grass sweetlip to 3kg and snapper from the 12 mile. Good bream a few good whiting showing up and the odd trevally off the rock wall. Plenty of trevally in Kawana Waters. Mud crabs to 1.3kg from the upper reaches.

Caloundra: Mac tuna and school mackerel on trolled pillies and few grass sweetlip on the bottom at sun rise on the 5 mile. Flathead and whiting from Golden Beach. Good numbers of summer whiting up to 38cm from Currimundi Lake. Flathead off the Boardwalk. Flathead south of Bells and in Pelican Waters canal.


Jon was drifting on his kayak using live worms off Picnic Point when he caught a tray full of quality whiting up to 400g.
